Welcome, class of 2014!
My name is Mrs. Meredith Wroblewski, and I'm glad to be returning to ChiArts for my second year! I grew up in a small farm town outside of Chicago - so rural, we had a "drive your tractor to school day!" (No, my family did not own a giant John Deere.) As a high school student, I played clarinet in the band, sang in the choir, cheered the football team on, and contributed to the school yearbook. I came to the "big city" of Chicago to attend college at DePaul (then UIC) and have stayed here since. I enjoy music, food, my big orange cat Chuck, the outdoors and yoga ... not necessarily in that order. I am passionate about sharing yoga & mindfulness practices with others, so expect to see some of that in class this year.
We have a big year ahead of us! My primary goals for all of you, my students, are (1) to help you learn how to use math in practical ways in your life as an adult and (2) to help prepare you for college or whatever lies in your near future. I believe what you learn in school should be useful to you outside of the classroom - so hold me to that!
